Install/Uninstall Instructions and How to Download the Updated Driver from the Topaz Website

Applies to: Topaz T-L462 Signature Pads

Supported Topaz Signature Models:

  • T-L462-HSB (-R): This model is for use with standard desktop PCs and will be sufficient for most offices. (Peer-to-Peer / P2P environment)
    • T-LBK462-HSB-R:  This model is supported the same way as the T-L462-HSB.  The only difference is the LBK has a built-in backlight.
  • T-L462-BSB - This model is ONLY for use with Terminal Services / Remote Desktop implementations.
    • T-LBK462-BSB-R:  This model is supported the same way as the T-L462-BSB.  The only difference is the LBK has a built-in backlight.

Step 1:
A. Make sure the Topaz Pad is NOT plugged in.
B. Put CD in drive.
C. The Installation should start on its own, but if not - double-click on SigPlus.exe to start the installation manually.

  • NOTE:When installing in Windows 10, right-click on SigPlus.exe and select Run as Administrator to start the installation manually.

Step 2: Click Next.

Step 4: Click Next. (If you need to change the drive the Signature Pad is installed on, click the Browse button)

Step 5: Choose the operating system you have on this computer.  Click OK.

Step 6: Choose the model of signature pad that you have.  It will be on the side of the box or on bottom of signature pad LCD model #.  Click OK.

Step 7: Choose how it will be connected (This will be determined by the last 3 letters after the model #.)  Click OK.

Step 8: Make sure signature pad is unplugged. Click OK.

Step 9: Read and click Agree to the license agreement.

Step 10: In the install screen, just wait for it to finish. Click Finish.

Step 11: We recommend clicking Yes to have the Demo OCX icon on your screen.  This will allow you to troubleshoot the signature pad if needed in the future.  Click OK.

Step 12: This is the location to find the installation notes and documentation if needed.  This will only appear if you choose to not put the icon on the desktop.  Click OK.

Step 13: Click OK.

Step 15: Click Finish. Reboot your computer and plug in your Signature pad to an open USB port (even if you have the HSB model).

Step 16: You are now Ready to use Signature Pad within your software.

Note:  These steps are subject to change if Topaz Systems Inc. updates their website.

*Make sure the Topaz Signature Pad is NOT plugged in.


  1. Go to the Topaz website:  http://www.sigpluspro.com
  2. Scroll down and find the number matching the serial number on the pad the office has. (Generally the T-L462)
  3. Download Topaz Signature Pad to your computer's desktop, Right-click and click on Save As on this icon.

  4. That download will put a Sigplus icon on the desktop.  Double-click on the Sigplus to install.
    (After the installation, SigPlus will be found in your C:\Windows\SigPlus folder.)

  5. After you double-click on the Sigplus icon, you will see this window. Click Run.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Click Next. The Destination Folder will be selected on C: (unless the office asks you to change that).

  9. Change the Model number to T-L radio button. (The model is on the back of the signature pad.)

  10. Make sure to choose the correct Signature Pad Model number from the list. (The Model number is on the back of the signature pad.)

  11. Choose the Connection Type. (Models that end in HSB or USB will be the HSB(USB type).

  12. Read the License Agreement.  Click Agree.

  13. Allow time for the Installation to go through.

  14. Click Yes to add Demo Ocx to the desktop.  Click OK.

  15. You will receive this pop-up to show you where the install notes and setup documents can be found.  Click OK.

  16. Click OK.

  17. Click Finish.

  18. Plug the Signature Pad info an open USB port on the machine. The Topaz Signature Pad is now ready to test.
  • FindDemoOCX on your desktop and double-click it to open.
    • NOTE: if you did not put the shortcut (step 12) on your desktop, theDemoOCX can be found at C:\Windows\Sigplus.

  • Test the signature pad:

    1 - ClickStart.
    2 - Use the pen to write on the pad.
    3 - If your writing shows in theDemoOCX screen, clickStop.
    4 - Close out of the demo software.

  • You are now ready to use the Signature Pad within software.
  1. Unplug the Signature Pad.
  2. Go to Add/Remove Programs .  Find Topaz E-Signatures.  Click Remove .
  3. On the Select uninstall method choose Automatic .  Click Next .
